2010!
Having just posted a post post which I actually wrote in 2009, I will see this as my first post of 2010.
2010 - wow. I can't actually believe a whole decade has gone by. I remember NYE 1999 so very clearly, which is surprising, really. Anyway, enough reminiscing.
I am currently trying to come up with incredible ideas for my MA thesis, and I must admit, it's not going as well as I'd like. However, I'm sure something will pop up soon - a gap in some theory, or just something I can study and pick apart. Time will tell, of that I am certain.
What I am quite happy about so far in 2010, is my work at Deep Blue Denmark. Those of you who avidly follow this blog and my life (anyone....anyone) will know that I recently completed my internship there. A, and I mean this, fantastic place to work. I'm actually pretty jealous of those who work there, as it's a close-knit team, in a huge company, which in turn is closer-knit..ted (?) than many, many other places of work. I miss it (and having something to work on everyday...). Anyway, one of the tasks I, and two other interns based in Århus, did, was the putting together of Pulse 10 - 2010's annual trend booklet, which summed up the coming top ten consumer and media trends.
Obviously I can't go in to detail, suffice to say the trends we highlighted were;
- Authentication
- Unplugged
- My Eco-Status
- Givism
- Subjective Selection
- Personal Gatekeepers
- The New Public Sphere
- Aggregation
- Digital Reality
- 3rd Place Mediasation
What makes me happy, and proud, is that day after day, in newspapers, magazines and online, I see proof that these are trends that are really breaking through already. It's great!
If you want to hear more about these trends, or get a copy of Pulse 10 (it's free!), you can contact them on Twitter, or through the website. I, needless to say, recommend it.
